About Plissken Festival
Plisskën Festival is an annual music festival originating from Athens, Greece that started in 2010.
Spanning a total line-up of 80 international artists and numerous local acts over its three editions, the festival is noted for its genre-defying philosophy by embracing music from a diversified background, as well as its concentration on showcasing some of the best talent to emerge from the international music scene. Some of the acts that have appeared in previous line-ups include: Death Grips, Peaches, These New Puritans, Ebo Taylor, Dead Skeletons (on their first show ever), King Krule, Fucked Up, King Khan and the Shrines, The Haxan Cloak, Dope Body, Egyptian Hip Hop, Girls Names, King Tuff, Triggerfinger, The Notwist, Andrew Weatherall, Shigeto and Forest Swords.
A strong focal point encompasses sustainability and volunteering alike, with the festival introducing in 2012, The Lab, a workshop for young people involving theory and practice on the makings of a festival, while it continuously maintains its environmental-conscious efforts only to culminate with the honour of the Commended Greener Festival Award 2013, with two out of four stars on its first year of assessment.
As its genre-defying philosophy suggests, the festival aims to provide an enjoyable and memorable experience for all its audiences, no matter age and background.
