Many are hoping to be crowned the best of what this summer had to offer at the eleventh edition of the UK Festival Awards.

Public voting is now open at festivalawards.com/vote, until Monday 27th October, with awards going for Best Major, Medium-sized, Small, New, Family, Grass Roots and Dance festivals.

Several artists are in the running too for the Headline Performance of the Year category, including Metallica, Kanye West, St. Vincent and London Grammar.

UK Festival Awards Director, Steve Jenner commented: “With more festivals applying to take part in these Awards than ever before and a very healthy crop of entries for Best New Festival, we are definitely sensing a level of increased confidence in the market this year, in relation to previous editions. It will make for an exciting Awards and we can’t wait to see what the outlook is like from the public’s perspective.”

Fans are given further incentive to vote with a ‘Dream Summer’ up for grabs – two VIP tickets to every festival that wins an award.

As well as the public voted categories, the UK Festival Awards features a number of specialist prizes, which are decided by juries of industry experts. These include Promoter Of The Year, Best Use Of New Technology, The Extra Festival Award and The Brand Activation Award.

Shortlists are announced on Monday 4th November, whereas overall winners will be announced from an award ceremony at London’s Roundhouse on Monday 1st December 2014.
