Crowbar will play Bloodstock in UK exclusive

Bloodstock Open Air Festival has announced four news acts for the 14th edition.

The UKs No 1 metal festival have exclusive UK performances lined up from New Orleans sludge metallers Crowbar as well as Finland’s death metal band Children of Bodom. Bodom are just about to begin their Halo of Blood World Tour as of the 15 November, finishing just in time to play Bloodstock.

Kirk Windstein, Crowbar’s frontman and recently departed Down guitarist has said: “Crowbar can’t wait to bring our NOLA doom back to Bloodstock in 2014! It’s our 25th anniversary, so expect a few surprises in our set. New record, new bassist and a whole new Crowbar attitude!!! Get ready for the heavy!!!”

Other new additions to the lineup include this years Hammerfest headliners Evil Scarecrow and Florida death metal band Obituary, who are currently working on their ninth studio album, a project funded and backed by 925 people on Kickstarter.

Over 100 bands will be descending on Walton on Trent in South Derbyshire between the 7-10 August 2014, spanning over three stages to play to up to 15,000 metalheads. Included in the lineup already are Emperor (another Bloodstock UK exclusive), Down, Saxon, Flotsam, Jetsam, Decapitated and Sunday headliners Megadeth.

Bloodstock has secured some impressive headliners in the past, including 2012’s Alice Cooper and Machine Head and 2013’s line up included the likes of King DiamondLamb of God and Slayer. It’s the big names like these that make Bloodstock a must for all metal lovers and the consistency of great names have led to Bloodstock being included in the finalist nominees for ‘Best Medium Sized Festival’ by UK Festival Awards, with results to be announced on Monday 2 December.
