The Isle of Wight Festival reveal a coup in their line up booking for the 2017. They have confirmed that Arcade Fire will be playing their only UK festival appearance at the event, headlining on Saturday night.

Although no firm dates have been revealed for the release of Arcade Fire’s fifth record, the band’s bassist and guitarist Tim Kingsbury stated that a spring 2017 was on the cards, backing up a claim made by Butler that the new album will be in public hands by early next year.

If a new release does materialise this will no doubt make the IoW Festival one of the hottest tickets on the planet for fans of this cult Canadian band. Their highly acclaimed, instrument infused brand of Low-Fi Indie Rock is sure to form a centrepiece of the entire event.

John Giddings, Isle of Wight promoter said “I’m so happy to have secured Arcade Fire as our first headliner. David Bowie recommended them and I’ve been a serious fan ever since. Last year was an incredible year for us and I’m ready to come back even better in 2017”

As yet no other acts have been announced for the Isle of Wight festival, which runs from 8-11 June 2017.
