Boomtown is proudly advertised as the UK’s most immersive and escapist festival – basing its structure, site and theme round a crazy, made-up history that mirrors the current global economic climate. This event is a real trickster with the propensity to dazzle and amaze with every corner turned. For four days in the high summer month of August, this delicate and picture-perfect slice of the Hampshire countryside is carved into a futuristic dystopia packed with carnival themes and outrageous other-worldly delights.
The layout and stages are all crafted round Boomtown’s central storyline, with locations as diverse as the Electro Swing haven you’ll find in the Fitz -Sloane Ballroom, through to the Bashment and Roots rhythms of the Boom Box. Despite the media hype, Boomtown offers much more than pure Dance delights, although this is without question one of the top destinations for space cadets, disco cowgirls and hyper bunnies looking to find their way to a sonic source.
Not everything in Boomtown is plug and petrol powered, with the festival paying a strong homage to the spiritual and tribal ancestors of the modern day event. Get yourself healed up from the worries of modern life in the Whistlers Green District, or take your seat for a slice of fine food at the Boomin’ Styles – with so many different attractions here, visitors can tailor make their ideal experience or just let the party work its magic. Finally we’ve just got to mention the Magic Carpet ride, a specially built mono-track that’s designed to get revellers round the site both with the maximum speed and the minimum effort. Entertainment par electronic excellence.
